Give me some colour….Things I Know

A change is a good as a holiday, isn’t it?  Our living room desperately needs a holiday!  It is bland, cold and unwelcoming.  It actually does not look much different to when we moved in!  It is white, beige and well not much else!  It truly needs an injection of colour!  But what colour… THINGS I KNOW ABOUT COLOUR

I know that yellow is……sunny, bright, welcoming and maybe a little too girly?

I know that Tiffany blue is smart, elegant but maybe a bit formal for a family home?

I know that pink is bright, lively but maybe too feminine?

I know that this mix of blue and beige is inviting, informal, homely

and this is sophisticated but welcoming and PERFECT!
What do you know?  Is this the right colour scheme for our home?

  1. My home is a pale duck egg blue with beige, grey and choc brown. It’s cool and calm and perfect for us.

  2. Love the blue – it looks gorgeous!

  3. Nice and inviting for sure 🙂 Perfect !

  4. I love the blue!! Our living room is dark – chocolate brown & red. I’d love a nice light, fresh change 🙂

  5. I love the blue/cream combination? Calming after a big day!

  6. To be honest – I could live quite comfortably in any of those homes – all the color schemes work for me 🙂

  7. My home is white – China white is the name of the colour actually. Hubby thought it’d better and easier for us to re-paint next time if we stuck to white. Plus it acts as a canvas for all our furniture too. But the down side is…kids – kids equals MARKS!!! but, at least I know it’s a home and not a display home – so these marks on my walls, they are part of the decoration. 😉

  8. Mm, that blue is beautiful! So relaxing and calming, like everyone else has said, lol!

  9. I like the Tiffany blue actually! Our home is white and beige, and like Norlin said it’s a great backdrop for our furniture and other eclectic pieces.
And yes, the dirty hand prints haha 😉

  10. I’m definately a sucker for the blue. We have two feature walls that were painted by the builders of our house in what can only be described as Mustard yellow. Have been wanting to repaint them for years!

  11. Oh my goodness, I love ALL those colours! But yes, the last one is PERFECT! Our house is lso cream, beige and white! Although, now it’s cream, beige and white with sticky brown finger prints everywhere! 🙂

  12. I like the blue and cream rooms best, so lovely and calm.

  13. I love the blue and beige combination. But in my dream home I’d probably try to go with the yellows and white.

Gorgeous post. Stole these all to repin. Hope you don’t mind.

  14. I love the blue and beige. I think blue on its own can be too cold, but in combination with a warm neutral it looks very inviting.

My lounge is decorated in browns and oranges. As soon as it was finished it became everyone’s favourite room.

  15. I am loving the last two, just beautiful!

  16. Oh I like the blue and beige…
We are painting our new living/family room white and cream, which sounds terrible boring I know. But I am also terribly indecisive and change my mind all the time, so we are going with white so that it will match whatever crazy coloured furniture and images I decide to put in it!

  17. Thank you a lot for giving everyone remarkably wonderful chance to read articles and blog posts from this blog.
