OzSale – Finding and Scoring a Bargain

This is a sponsored post in conjunction with OzSale.

Anyone who has been following The Organised Nest for a while knows how much I LOVE online shopping.  If I can buy it online, I do.  It saves navigating overcrowded stores with my massive pram.  Trying to make decisions whilst being bombarde by questions and whinging form little humans.  Lets me buy presents stealthily, keeping purchases hidden from alwyas prying children (ok and occasionally the husband).

Recently OzSale contacted me and wanted to know if I would try it out.  I will be honest in that I was a little reluctant as I had no clue about the autheniticty of Ozsale or where on earth (literally) the goods were coming from.  I let them know I couldn’t promise anything, but I was happy to check it out.

Late one night during a feeding frenzy I goggled ozsale.  Turns out their is an app you can download to navigate it on your mobile a little better, so I did.  First thing I see, Holster sandals, dirt cheap.  Are you serious?  HALF THE PRICE people!

I keep browsing and check out the Living category.  Cushions in bright modern designs for $12!!!  The whole cushion!  Not just the cover!  With piping! and BAGS!  Tote bags, lunch bags, cosmetic bags from $9.  An organiser like me can never have enough bags.

So I placed my first order.  I am a massive overthinker so umming and ahhing I left my first purchase until the next day.  Some summer dresses and of course those holster sandals.  THE SANDALS are SOLD OUT!!!  My first lesson of ozSale.  These are massive deals, when you see it, buy it as the stock moves quickly.  So dresses it will be!  I bought two maxi dresses and two shorter summer dresses totalling under $60.  Yep FOUR dresses for under $60!!!

Not wanting to risk loosing money, I waited for the dresses to arrive before placing my next order.  And arrive they did, FOUR DAYS LATER!  I thought I would be waiting weeks! Turns out some stock is sent from Australia so these items do not take too long to arrive.  Check on the description of the item you are purchasing in regards to where it is being sent form.

The dresses were PERFECT.  Good quality, packaged nicely, could not fault it.  So you know what I did that night!  Yep another search!

This time I bought cushions and those tote bags (including some ballet bags for Little Miss A for Christmas)  This time they were via international post and yet they arrived in under 10 business days!!!!

So I am hooked!

The Love To Dream Swaddle UP

As any new Mum can atest there is nothing like a good nights sleep.  I can’t tell you how many nights I have spent counting how many hours or even minutes of sleep I plan to get, will get or didn’t get.  We have wrapped babies, played white noise, rocked, patted, bounced and willed babies to sleep.

Third time around I am trying some new tactics.  The first one being a swaddle!  I have wrapped both Master O and Little Miss A when it was sleep time and found I had no end of problems.  Escape artists, unwrapping and rewrapping between feeds, wraps that never seem to be the right shape or size, babies being wrapped and still managing to kick blankets off! We have experienced it all.  So once our newest arrival was here I called for help on our Facebook page.  What could I do differently this time?  The overwhelming answer from our community was a SWADDLE!

A Love To Dream Swaddle UP.

The Love to Dream team also read my cries for help and sent me “Swaddle UP” to put to the test.

After a good laugh at how our big buddha baby looked all snug as a bug we put him to bed.  From that first night on I found he slept for longer between feeds and also was able to resettle more quickly after a feed!  Brilliant!

So what do I love about this product?

  • The Startle Stopper. Love To Swaddle UP has a unique design that helps calm the startle reflex.  You know that sudden jerky movement the baby does with its arms that “startles” them! Well by having their arms wrapped it calms the reflex allowing them to stay asleep!
  •  Arms up. Unlike wrapping, the Love to Dream Swaddle UP allows babies to sleep in their natural position with their arms up. Our bub was already an arms up sleeper so this swaddle was perfect!  It also allowed him to suck on his hand which he loves!
  • No escaping! The swaddle also offers an easier, safer way for babies to sleep as it reduces the risk of them wriggling out or getting tangled in loose wrapping.
  • The twin zipper.  It was just so easy to do a midnight nappy change!  His arms and body could stay warm and snug whilst I only had to unzip the bottom!
  • Works with the weather.  We live in South East Queensland.  With an April baby we have experienced warm nights AND Freezing mornings all in the space of a week.  I love that I could put him in the normal swaddle on average nights and then layer him up in the Love to Layer On Merino when it got cooler!  This meant there was no need for blankets!

Possibly the only con was that he outgrew it so quickly!  We are already into the next size!  But then again he is one big baby (6.3kgs and 64cms at 2 months) and very broad across the shoulders .

Love to Swaddle UP is available in a range of styles, sizes and colours.

I can only dream what it would have been like to have this product for my previous two babies.  It’s on my baby shower gift list for all pregnant friends!

and because caring is sharing…..

“I Like shopping, but LOVE that there is an app for it!”

You should know by now that I have a little problem with shopping!

Although I would generally like to do my shopping online sometimes a trip to the shops is called for.  Last weekend I stepped out of my shopping comfort zone and went shopping, to an unknown shopping centre with….THE WHOLE FAMILY!  Don’t worry this little experiment was not just for kicks! It was for good reason.  I wanted to check out the new  “My Stockland” Shopping App.  It promises to make my shopping expereince more convenient.  Thats a big promise. Theres not much convienience in shopping with children in tow!  But we went, we tested and we loved it!

I am an experienced hunter and gatherer.  I go prepared and never leave home without a plan and a list.  Using the “My Stockland” app from the comfort of my home, I could find via gps where my closest Stockland shopping centre was, view which stores were avilable in the centre, what time they opened and even a simple one touch button to call the store to make sure they had what I wanted in stock!  I then planned my trip accordingly and used the app to record my “wish list” using the shopping list feature!

So armed with my list, plan, phone, $100 and husband and children.  We attacked the shops.  Of course high priority on the list were accessories and shoes.

Did you guess which colour I bought?
If you have the shoes surely you need the jewellery too?

Want to know how much you will save if you take up the 20% off the second pair deal?  There’s a feature on the “My Stockland” app for that too!

It works out the discount for you!  Now thats clever!

I have to say that this app truly made our shopping experience more organised, smart and fun! Best of all the app was FREE!

You can download the “My Stockland” app for free! http://bit.ly/HOHxiW

So would you use an app to help you shop?  Want to give it a go on us?

We are giving away a….

$100 Stockland Shopping Centre Gift Voucher

Simply comment below answering this question:

What would you spend $100 on at a Stockland Shopping Centre?

Disclosure: I was provided with a $100 gift voucher to test out this app. Yep and I spent every cent!

My Posh Baby Boutique ~ A new favourite

The wardrobe cull is over and my new mantra “one thing in and one thing out” means….it’s time to go shopping!  Little Miss A needs a new wardrobe.  Well maybe not needs but Mummy wants!  The winter is over and I am looking forward to summer outfits that reveal those cute little legs!  The lovely Samantha of My Posh Baby Boutique is helping me stock Little Miss A’s summer wardrobe!  We have started with this gorgeous little number!

Lady Bug Pinafore and Bloomers Set

This two piece “Mud Pie” set is just as gorgeous on as it looks!  “Mud Pie” has long been one of my favourite brands but I have had trouble finding Australian stockists.  My Posh Baby Boutique stocks a whole range!  The quality is absolutely superb and best of all it is unique and reasonably priced.  Little Miss A wore the pinafore with a little white shirt and white pants underneath (it’s still a bit cool here) but I can’t wait to get her little legs in those bloomers!

Next on our shopping list,

Pink Ruffled Dress ~ $40

Oh I am in little girl heaven!  The pink and the ruffles!  Can you ever have too many ruffles in your wardrobe.  We have a special family occasion happening in November and this dress is perfect!

Polka Dot and Lace Dress ~ $20

Vintage heaven!  The lace trim, the bows and there’s those ruffles again.  So now I can’t choose!

On this weeks to do list was to find some Christmas outfits for “My Pigeon Pair”

Ornament Bloomers ~ $20

Seriously, could these bloomers get any cuter.  Perfect for a hot Australian Christmas.  The boys won’ be left out either…
